Horticulture covers a wide field of production where each has its own cultivation techniques. Light for many species will play a determining role in their behavior. In production greenhouses and nurseries, the morphogenesis of the plant varies according to climatic conditions and the place of cultivation. Natural or artificially supplemented light helps reduce production cycles, maintain productive mother plants, and obtain strong and dense plants. Thanks to the lighting, signals antagonistic to the development of the plant can be used to delay, for example, the entry into flowering.

Results

Stock plants & Multi-species cuttings

  • Plants obtained under lighting are more robust with a well-developed root system
  • The mother plants remained in vegetative and vigorous growth

Since fall 2019, we have been experimenting with cultivation of mother plants and rooting of cuttings under VGD led lighting. We can see a clear improvement in the rooting quality of our cuttings. For the part of the mother plants, we are deepening our thoughts.
